On the 25th anniversary of the launch of the Hubble Telescope, veteran astronaut John Mace Grunsfeld, Associate Administrator for the Science Mission Directorate at NASA, and Zoltan Levay of the Space Telescope Science Institute offer their insights on Hubble’s legacy and the future of space exploration.
Their appearance coincides with the release of the new book, “Expanding Universe: Photographs from the Hubble Space Telescope,” which features breathtaking images from deep space taken by the Hubble.
Grunsfeld is a veteran of five space shuttle flights and visited Hubble three times during these missions. He serves as NASA’s associate administrator for the science mission directorate.
Levay is imaging lead at the Space Telescope Science Institute and will explain how the pictures from the book were composed.
Their appearance coincides with the release of the new Taschen book “Expanding Universe: Photographs from the Hubble Space Telescope.”
A book signing with Zoltan Levay will follow the program.
