The day I was here, the theatre had to close early so the cast of "1776" could rehearse. The Lincoln Museum in the basement was closed for renovation as was the Petersen House across the street. Ford's Theatre itself is currently closed for renovation. Pictures here are of the back alley and were encouraged by a walking tour sign which mentioned that this was the way that John Wilkes Booth came after the fanatic had murdered Abraham Lincoln.
