05/17/2013 (Friday): Staying way too busy! I've still got pictures to go through from Sunday, Wednesday (FOSE with Joe Theismann or Steve VanRoekel, as well as the National Archives' presentation on "Congress and the White House: Partners or Foes?"), and Thursday (the National Zoo's Zoofari event). If you're waiting for those, you'll have to wait a day or two. Total number of pictures in the review queue:5,700.
Workmen on May 9 approach the end of erecting the scaffolding on the Washington Monument, in preparation for the repair of earthquake damage. Repair work by the National Park Service has to go on while Congressional dunderheads being at loggerheads continue to cripple the mission of the NPS.
