Just after the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, Kuniyoshi was classified an "enemy alien" by the U.S. government. "A few short days has changed my status in this country, although I myself have not changed at all," wrote Kuniyoshi to George Biddle on December 11, 1941. |
