Existing comment: A new feature of the National World War II Memorial will be opening to the public in January, 2023. The President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s D-Day Prayer plaque wasn't part of the original memorial when it opened in 2004 but it was authorized in 2014. Shown here at the unveiling on December 20, 2022 are (left to right):
* Jeff Reinbold (superintendent of the National Mall and Memorial Parks),
* Lt. Gen. Mick Kicklighter, USA (Ret.) (board member of the Friends of the National World War II Memorial), and
* Sen. Rob Portman
