Existing comment: Suburban Amusements
Trolley cars and automobiles offered Virginians more mobility. At the beginning of the twentieth century the Virginia Passenger & Power Company built an elaborate suburban amusement park at the end of their line in South Richmond. Complete with carousel, loop-the-loop, bath house, swimming area, fun house, and other amenities, the park remained a popular attraction until 1932.
