Kodak No. 2C Brownie Camera, 1907
In 1888, Kodak introduced the first widely used "box" camera
Before box cameras, photography involved the use of chemicals and glass plates, making it too difficult and expensive for the average person. Box cameras used flexible rolls of film that allowed cameras to become light and portable. The first Kodak box cameras came pre-loaded with film, and the entire camera was sent away to have the photographs developed. |
