This fragment of armor, made of wool and iron, was excavated at Jordan's Journey.

Following the 1622 Powhatan attack, the London Company reported to the colonists that King James I was sending from the armory at the Tower of London a shipment of weapons and armor to be used in a new offensive to replant abandoned plantations and drive away the Indians. The armor was antiquated -- ineffective against gunfire -- but authorities thought it might prove useful against the Indians.
