La Bete Est Morte!
Seemingly for children, this commentary on ethnicity and patriotism during World War II is anything but innocent. A big bad wolf (Hitler) sets out to destroy the woodland creatures (France), but they are rescued by their friends the bulldogs (England), the bison (U.S.), and the polar bears (USSR). This schoolyard tale of good versus evil makes an odd statement similar to George Orwell's "Animal Farm," which appeals to children as well as adults.
