Existing comment: Little Sorrel (Unknown-1886)
In the spring of 1861, Thomas J. Jackson acquired a small, gaunt horse with remarkable powers of endurance that would become his favorite. After the war, Little Sorrel was sent to the Virginia Military Institute. His bones were buried in 1997, but his mounted hide is still on display at the VMI Museum in Lexington.
