This is Michelson Hall which was under repairs. Dr Albert Michelson (USNA 1873) was the first person to successfully measure the speed of light, for which he received the Nobel prize in physics. The cannon thing is the Mexican Monument. Erected in 1848, it honors four students who die in the Mexican War. |
