Existing comment: Red Cross Volunteer
In June 1944, about 100 2-1/2 ton trucks were converted into Red Cross clubmobiles to accompany American troops across Europe. Operated by a team of three American volunteer women, each truck had a small kitchen for making doughnuts and coffee for distribution to troops. This volunteer is wearing a Military Welfare Service overcoat and has a Red Cross Clubmobile Service patch on her left sleeve and the 3d Infantry Division insignia on the right one.
