The pinball artist has to keep in mind all of these specifications before he ever lifts a pen or pencil to paper:
(1) All the specific functions of the game have to be included on the playfield before the artistry can begin. (maybe this is artistry) to get all of these details on the playfield surface (whitewood) and still have it function both aesthetically and functionally.
(2) The artwork has to induce the player to come play the game.
(3) The artwork needs to tell a story that the player can follow without being distracted from the game play.
