Historic Churchyard
With the oldest tombstones dating back almost 250 years, St. Paul's Churchyard contains over 850 graves and 30 subterranean vaults including the grave of George Eacker, a young man famous for having shot and killed Alexander Hamilton's eldest son Philip in a duel. Also noteworthy is the preservation of the Thomas Addis Emmet Obelisk in the south churchyard. |
