Oysters & Clamshells
During renovation in the 1960s, a number of oyster and clam shells were discovered beneath the foundation of St. Paul's Chapel.
This could be because the Hudson River was closer to St. Paul's before the shoreline was filled in, or because shells were once used as building materials. |
