Volunteer Fire Company
St. Paul's Chapel provided the headquarters for two New York City volunteer fire companies from 1780 to 1863. Company 14, nicknamed "Columbian," anchored the northwest corner of the property, and Company 39, known as "Franklin" or "Old Skiver," could be found at the corner to the southwest.
