The Changing Room
Miner's changing room where work clothing was suspended from the ceiling. Why? Because the miners wanted their clothes to dry overnight. Since warm air is less dense than cold air, the warmest air in the building was near the ceiling. This relief was based on a photograph, Hogan, date unknown, Marvine Colliery folder, archives of the Lackawanna Historical Society.
