Construction of Courtyard Canopy, 2006:
Designed by architect Sir Norman Foster, the canopy is made of 7,000 steel segments welded together in a lattice. The canopy's 860 glass panes are each 6-1/2 feet square. The steel and glass members were fabricated in Germany. |
