The Dorothy Weiss Gallery, founded by Dorothy Weiss in San Francisco and active from 1984 to 2000, specialized in contemporary clay and glass. Although Weiss favored nonfunctional pieces, every year she held a Teapot Invitation exhibition. In this letter to Weiss, Juta Savage makes an illustrated list of her teapots, showing variations of her standard forms. Weiss marks a few with an x in pencil, for possible reproduction on the announcement card for the first Teapot Invitational that opened on November 29, 1984. |
