Existing comment: THE SINGULARITY
Could this possibly be true?
A star bigger than the sun
Squashed down to pinhead size
For a billion years it shone so brilliantly
Holding its family of planets in their orbits
Keeping them warm and full of life.
Until catastrophe
Nuclear furnace depleted, burnt out, collapsed
Gravity, inexorable, pulled it in, smaller, smaller
Atoms crushed - protons, electrons, neutrons squeezed to death
A black hole, nothing could escape its pull
Swallowed its planets, their mountains and oceans
Life was there - but is no more.
But inside its event horizon it kept collapsing
The giant star squashed down to pinhead size
A trillion times smaller even than that
A trillion times smaller even than that
Repeat ad infinitum ...
Zero size, infinite density A singularity!
