Existing comment: A Much Warmer Future Changes Life as We Know It

Sea level could rise at least 1-4 ft (0.3-1.2 m) and possibly much more by the year 2100. This will flood many major cities, displace millions of people, and cost trillions of dollars worldwide. Sea level would rise 265 feet (80 m) if the ice caps melted completely.

Higher temperatures, more intense storms, and longer droughts will decrease crop production in many places we currently grow our food.

The poles are warming so fast that cold-adapted animals and plants can't adjust -- putting them at risk of extinction. Other species will move in as temperatures rise.
