Extinction in Africa

Relatively few large African animal species went extinct during the recent ice ages. Many that did not go extinct during the recent ice ages. Many that did go extinct were grassland dwellers susceptible to climate changes that reduced their habitats. Scientists are looking for clues explaining what role humans had in African extinctions.
It's possible that a long history of hunting by early humans increased the ability of many large species to survive predation, lowering their rates of extinction in Africa.
