MOGE stands for "Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise". It is the national oil and gas company that was set up when Burma nationalized its petroleum industry in 1963. It's involved in the Yadana natural gas pipeline project to connect an offshore oil field (37 miles offshore!) to Myanmar. Partners in this project are MOGE, France's Total S.A. energy group, Chevron and PTT, a Thai state-owned oil and gas company. |
