Dated November 23, 1981, this door was signed by members of a home builders association in Mississippi and sent to President Reagan. Prior to Reagan's administration, the economy had already weathered a decade of rising unemployment and inflation. And between 1978 and 1982, home sales dropped 50 percent. This door was sent "to keep you aware of the critical situation" and to seek help from the President. |
