On December 7, 1941, everything changed. Bombs and bullets ravaged Oahu, plunging America into World War II. Other Japanese attacks erupted across the Pacific. Midway, Wake, Guam, Hong Kong, and the Philippines were struck. Martial law was declared in Hawaii. Sea and air travel to and among the islands for nonmilitary purposes ended.
