The campaign to pass the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) necessitated a broader approach than the suffrage campaign. Members worked actively toward women's equality on multiple fronts -- state, federal, and international. They drafted more than six hundred pieces of legislation in support of equal rights for women on the state and local levels, three hundred of which were passed by state legislatures.
