Beetle Bailey is a syndicated comic strip started by Mort Walker in 1950 that still runs today. In this comic, the straggler Beetle is, as usual, being put down by his nemesis Sergeant Orville. Beetle's eyes are always concealed, not a trait that is useful for catching pop-flies, which ultimately results in his being knocked out (an iconic image for the strip). |
