Since World War I, when trucks, tanks, and aircraft were first used in combat, Quartermasters have supplied the Army with fuel. A steady supply of fuel is critical to winning a war or battle and the need to obtain fuel, or to protect fuel supplies, has often determined how and where wars and battles are fought. Quartermasters are the "Fuelers of the Force," performing the mission of supplying the Army with fuels necessary to win on the battlefield. |
