Existing comment: Patton's Quarters and Office Van (1944):
Originally delivered to the US Army as a Small Arms Repair Van, it was taken out of service in early 1944 and modified to create a mobile office for General Patton. Designed both as a sleeping quarters and office, it boasts a single bed with built-in desk and map board, as well as a closet and a small sink with a water reservoir above. It could be hooked up to a portable generator to provide it with lights, heat and power for the radios placed in the storage above the desk. It was also equipped for telephone service. It was placed in storage at the end of WWII and transferred to the Patton Museum from Europe in 1948. The artifacts within are the personal property of the general.
