Recovered from body of three-year-old Anna C. Liebenow, a victim of the General Slocum steamship fire in June 1904. Over 1,000 people perished on the vessel, which was carrying mostly German immigrant women and children to a church picnic. The tragedy stood as New York City's deadliest disaster until the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
