The originals for these later casts were commissioned for the lobby of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum in Hyde Park, New York. Carolyn Palmer based her lifelike sculptures of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt upon photographs of the president and first lady during the World War II era, when they were in their 50s. |
