The brain and spinal cord were removed from a cadaver, and preserved in formaldehyde. The two large cerebral hemispheres, normally encased in the skull, can be seen. The base of the hindbrain leads continuously into the spinal cord, which can be seen to extend several feet towards the region of the hips. |
