The president's body was transported to the White House where a post-mortem investigation took place at 12:10pm in the Guest Room at the northeast corner of the second floor (currently the President's Dining Room). Surgeon General Joseph K. Barnes and Dr. Robert K. Stone presided, while Assistant Surgeons Joseph J. Woodward and Edward Curtis of the Army Medical Museum performed the autopsy. |
