Peleg's "Peg Leg"
This crudely made artificial leg was worn by Bradford during the years following the amputation of his right leg in 1864. For unknown reasons, Bradford opted for this leg of homemade or local manufacture instead of the more advanced prosthetic legs available at the time. |
