Existing comment: Stronger Together: Conservation Across Boundaries

Through their migrations, elk, deer, and pronghorn link the national parks to nearby forests, ranchlands, and communities. Other species, like waterbirds and colorful songbirds, travel much farther -- to the Pacific Ocean and even Central America. These creatures' trans-boundary journeys illustrate the idea of a "Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem," and they hold an important lesson for us: conservation, too, must cross out many boundaries.
