Jamil and Ammar are brothers from Syria who fled the civil war against President Bashar Assad in 2012. They spent four years in Jordan before getting visas to settle as refugees in the United States in 2016. In the cartoon series that chronicles their journey, their names were changed and the places they lived were kept secret to protect the families. |
