FBI agents used this mobile Biometric Collection Integration Platform to identify Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the Boston bombing suspect killed in a police shootout. The device took a "quick capture" of his fingerprints, which was sent to the FBI database for matching. The FBI had interviewed Tsarnaev in 2011 about his radical Islamist ties. His brother, Dzhokhar, was identified by matching his driver's license photo to security camera footage from the bombing. |
