Existing comment: Turnin' and Burnin'
Morgan Ian Wilbur, 2003
Though World War II marked the first use of military jet aircraft, Korea saw them grow toward maturity. Besides the new helicopters, the Korean War was fought with a mix of propeller planes and jets. The Navy and Marine Corps planes seen here all made names for themselves in the skies over Korea. From left to right, these are the McDonnell F2H "Banshee," Grumman F9F "Panther", Vought F4U "Corsair," Douglas AD "Skyraider," Douglas F3D "Skyknight," and Grumman F7F "Tigercat."
