In 1910 the US Immigrant Service opened a new facility for processing immigrants arriving in San Fransisco. The Chinese community objected that Angel Island's location made it difficult to visit relatives and that inspectors were "exceedingly harsh" towards Chinese. This handbill asserted the "We must with one accord protest for the equal rights which were enjoyed by us."
