England after recording her battle record on the pilothouse bulkhead.

USS England (DE-635):
In the Bismarck Archipelago, the destroyer escort England experienced a phenomenal string of successes, sinking six Japanese submarines in twelve days. Commanded by Lt Cmdr Walton B Pendleton, England's battle record is unmatched by any American warship.
Japanese intelligence intercepted the loss of their scout submarines as an indication of a major American naval drive to bypass the Marianas, and decided -- disastrously -- to reduce defenses at the strategically important islands of Saipan, Tinian, and Guam.
