The pink Chanel suit and matching pillbox hat that First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy wore the day of her husband's death became a symbol of the tragedy. The unmistakable ensemble, recreated here for the 2016 movie Jackie, plays a large part in our cultural memory of the assassination.
The original suit is now in the collection of the National Archives. At the request of the Kennedy family, it will not be publicly displayed until the year 2103. |
