Levinthal's photograph depicts the figure of Roberto Clemente, who was the first Latin American and Caribbean player to be enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Beloved not only as a superb outfielder but also for his philanthropy and charitable work, Clemente died in a plane crash while traveling to Nicaragua to deliver aid to earthquake victims in 1972. |
