South Tufa:
If you have time for only one stop, this is the best place to visit Mono Lake. Here, you will discover a self-guided nature trail through the tufa formations that provides easy lakeshore access. Depending on the season, South Tufa is a good place to see some of hte the one million migratory birds that visit the lake each year. Naturalist tours are offered daily in the summer and some weekends in the winter. |
