Existing comment: New York, Feb. 7, 1964 -- Garb [sic] that Beatle -- With fans closing in, a member of the British singing group The Beatles, second from left, struggles for police protection as he tries to enter is New York hotel today. A crowd of several hundred screaming fans welcomes the group at the hotel after an estimated 5,000 turned up at Kennedy Airport to shout a tumultuous greeting to the United States. The Beatles, a quartet, will make a series of appearances in this country. One Beatle described the welcome as like none they'd ever seen, "It's fantastic."
