DISNEYLAND® RESORT began with the Happiest Place on Earth, which welcomed its first guests on July 17, 1955. Disneyland Park was the dream of one man, Walt Disney, who said on opening day, "Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world." In 2001, Disney's California Adventure® Park opened, and Disneyland Park, three Disney Hotels and the adjoining shopping/dining/entertainment area, Downtown Disney® District, became known as the Disneyland Resort. Walt Disney's original Magic Kingdom, Disneyland Park, will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2005, at which time it will welcome the 75 InspEARations tour as its final official destination. |
