WAYNE ALLWINE AND RUSSI TAYLOR are voice artists-and a married couple-most famous for their vocal roles as Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Wayne was an award-winning sound effects artist at Disney (where his mentor was the legendary Jimmy Macdonald) who started performing the voice of Mickey at the request of the original voice, Walt Disney. Becoming Mickey's official voice in 1977, Wayne met fellow voice artist Russi Taylor-Minnie's official voice since 1985-during the recording of the television special, Disney's Totally Minnie (1988)-the start of a wonderful friendship that led to a wonderful marriage. As the voices of the world's most famous characters, Wayne and Russi have a strong sense of guardianship, but feel that Mickey and Minnie belong to the world...not them. |
