She starred on Broadway in many productions including Bad Habits, for which she won the Outer Critics Circle Award. Doris' nearly 30 feature-film credits include The Rose (1979), National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989, and All Over the Guy (2001). Nominated for nine Emmy® Awards, she won the 2001, 2002 and 2003 Emmy® Awards as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Everybody Loves Raymond. She also won an Emmy® Award for a guest-starring role in St. Elsewhere and was nominated for an Emmy for her supporting role in Remington Steele. Doris' memoir, Are You Hungry, Dear? was published in 2003.
