Metropolitan AME Church
The Metropolian African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church was founded in 1854. It became a major stop for the Underground Railroad and was the church of Frederick Douglass. Douglass's funeral was held here in 1895. Currently, this building serves as the national headquarters of the AME Episcopal Church. |
