Colonel Edmund Starling, head of the Secret Service for President Wilson, often walked the President to and from Mrs. Galt's residence during the couple's courtship. He recounts that on those walks home, the President would dance off the curbs, and when waiting to cross the street would sing to himself a popular song form the time and jig along with it.
