Here's the Lorraine Motel, where Martin Luther King was killed in 1968. They did a really nice job making this into the National Civil Rights Museum. You start with a long series of photograph-heavy, frequently interactive displays with some life-size statues and end up in the hallway outside the room where he stayed and inside from the balcony where he was killed. The motel itself is still in a slummy area of Memphis even though it's only two blocks from frequently trendy Beale Street.
